Abstract |
This study discusses the role of the Palestinian problem in the Saudi – German relation during 1929-1939, when the first steps of establishing this relation started by signing the Friendship and Cooperation agreement between them in Cairo 1929, and ended when the second world war began in 1939. During that time, the Palestiniane problem had an influence on this relation based on the attitudes of the political Saudi leadership that are based on Islam and protecting Islamic holy places on one hand, and the attempt to decrease the British pressure and influence on the Saudi decision on the other hand. As for the Germans, they found a political and economical benefit in this relation during the time of the Weimer government, which developed after 1933 when the Nazi party became the governing party to use it strategically in confronting/distracting Britain. |
